salOOn is a project series by TAIFUN Project that relocates artistic encounters into spaces not originally intended primarily for art: private apartments, libraries, parks, temporary sites, or everyday situations. In this context, salOOn understands place not as a mere backdrop, but as something that emerges through social, spatial, and contextual relationships and is continually redefined through the course of each encounter. At its core is the idea of understanding art as a form of exchange — as a practice of thinking, listening, perceiving, and negotiating together. The projects develop collaboratively and processually: artists from different disciplines create situations, exhibitions, interventions, or events that unfold in response to the specific context, location, and people involved. Formally, each edition of salOOn is realized jointly by two artists, who also act as the curators of their collaboration. They independently determine the form, working method, and dramaturgy of the project, as well as the location, duration, mode of encounter, and the conditions under which the project takes place. In this way, each edition becomes its own unique constellation, shaped less by a fixed production model than by dialogue and the dynamics of collaboration itself. As part of TAIFUN Project, salOOn continues an interest in cultural and intellectual dialogue, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international exchange. At the same time, the series creates a more intimate and open framework in which uncertainty, improvisation, and personal encounters are understood not as obstacles, but as productive conditions. salOOn therefore understands itself less as a fixed format than as a flexible structure: a platform for temporary communities, shared experiences, and forms of cultural productivity that move between public and private space, planning and coincidence, hospitality and artistic research.
